North Carolina Divorce Attorney, Gailor Wallis & Hunt, named ‘2008 Super Lawyer’
Posted by: qamarzaman in NewsFebruary 21, 2008 - Since 1994, Gailor Wallis & Hunt has remained professionally and personally dedicated to the success of every North Carolina divorce case they encounter. Since that time, the divorce law firm has expanded to an eight-lawyer “boutique firm” that covers the gamut of practice areas including complex equitable distribution, post-separation support and alimony, custody and child support, marital tort litigation, premarital and pre-union agreements, guardianship, and family law appeals and adoptions.
Carole Gailor, the founding partner of the firm, is no stranger to the courtroom and has an extensive resume that illustrates her vast knowledge of the law. Gailor became a board-certified family law specialist in 1989, and was admitted to the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers in 1997. That being said, the other divorce law attorneys have nothing less than exemplary capabilities in legal proceedings. The attorneys experience runs deep and prior to joining the firm, some have worked as appellate court clerks at the state level, served as an assistant district attorney, worked as criminal defense lawyers or as large-firm corporate attorneys. “This provides a broad knowledge base and a robust think tank for dealing with multifaceted cases,” says Gailor.
Now, adding icing to the very elaborate cake, Gailor has been given top honors being named to the 2008 Super Lawyers® list. In addition, Gailor was also selected as one of the Top 50 women attorneys. According to Gailor, “the firm is on track to continue growth not only in its number of professionals, but in specific areas of concentration in the practice of domestic law.”
Gailor remains humble, being fully aware that her success is due, in part, to the hard work and proficiency of her partners. Firm partner, Kim Wallis specializes in family law appellate work, and Cathy Hunt focuses on complex business valuation cases. “Each attorney is encouraged to develop a specific area of concentration, which is a resource for the firm’s other lawyers and clients,” Gailor says.
